What We Collect

Google Analytics records, for each visit:

• the pages you view and how long you stay;
• the site or link that sent you here;
• that you started using a calculator and got a result (not the numbers you entered), whether you copied, printed or shared the result, the search result you picked and the words you searched for;
• your browser, device type and screen size;
• your approximate location (country, region and city), worked out from your IP address.

We don’t ask for your name or phone number. The contact form asks for your email address so we can reply; every calculator works without it. If you open a link to a shared calculation, the sizes in that link are part of the page address that Google Analytics records.

Ads and Cookies

We show ads from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can turn off personalized ads in Google’s Ad Settings, and opt out of other vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses data from sites like ours in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Google Analytics also uses cookies, to tell a returning visitor from a new one. They hold a random ID, not your name.

Visitors in Europe, the UK and Switzerland

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google’s analytics and advertising storage start switched off, and Google doesn’t show you personalized ads unless you agree to them.

What Stays in Your Browser

The calculator on the home page keeps your recent calculations in your browser’s storage so they are there when you come back. They never leave your device, and the Clear button in the history removes them.

The calculators open in the units and currency of your country, worked out in your browser from your device’s time zone and language settings. When you pick US or Metric, or a currency, the choice is kept in your browser’s storage too and never sent to us.

Contact Form

When you send a message, your email address, the topic and the message go to our form service on Cloudflare. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person sent it, not a bot, and Resend delivers the message to our inbox. We use your address only to reply. The form service does not log your address or your message.

How We Use the Statistics

To count visitors, see which calculators people use, find errors and decide what to build next. We don’t use them to identify you, and we have no contact details of visitors to sell.

Who Processes Your Data

Google processes the analytics and ad data under its own privacy policy. Cloudflare and our hosting provider handle your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks. Cloudflare also runs the contact form and its spam check, and Resend delivers the messages.

How to Opt Out

• Install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Turn off personalized ads in Ad Settings.
• Block or delete cookies for constructioncalculators.com in your browser. The calculators work the same either way.

Children

The site is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information about them.

Changes and Contact

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date below. Questions about privacy: use our contact form.
